Intense Heat!
The Kicks Morning Show was ready for a little experiment.  The basic premise was with the intense heat outside, Mike and Steve wanted to see how much heat WB and Michael Lane could take inside...inside a steam room.  Michael Lane was wearing a V Pack filled with ice packs and WB was clad in aluminum foil.  They both lasted over 22 minutes in a 161 degree steam room.  Check out the exclusive pics HERE!

Letters from Listeners

Hello!  My name is Heather LaFavor and I  am a big fan of your morning show.  I have listened to Kicks 99  for as long as I can remember (I'm 31), yet I have never taken  the time to realize just how much of an impact radio djs can have on a person's mood until I began making a long commute to work  last school year.  I drive 45 minutes each morning to teach 2nd  grade at Barnwell Primary. I've never been an early morning  person and Highway 278 is usually uneventful. I found myself  looking forward each morning to what the two of you would have to share with your listeners, whether it be newspaper headlines, Rants &  Raves, stupid crooks, etc. Anything to keep me entertained on an otherwise boring drive.  You both have made me  laugh so hard at times, tears would be streaming down my face. Many mornings I arrive at work and just have to share a joke or story you have told, either with my students or a fellow teacher.
You may not remember this, but a few  days before Trent Tomlinson performed at The Country Club, the station  went off the air for a while in the morning and you gave tickets away to the first two callers who called in to show  they
were still hanging in there with you, waiting for your return.  The first caller was me, and it was the first time I'd  ever won concert tickets to see anyone. After two years of  unsuccessfully trying to win my daughter (now 8) tickets to see Rascal  Flatts, I'd made it through!  After arriving, I was given passes to  meet Trent before the concert.  Nothing could bring me down that  weekend!
The dedication you both show to the community is  awesome and contagious.  Throughout the past year, summer  excluded of course - I try to sleep in as often as possible-, I've been amazed and extremely proud of the efforts made to support  our troops, children, and non-profit organizations.  Mike -Just  so you know, I was the top cookie seller for my Girl Scout Troop four  years running.  I may could have given you a run for your money  had it been during the same decade!  You both have a gift for  inspiring others to lend a hand and go the extra mile.  Kicks 99  truly deserves the awards and recognition recently received.
As you continue to broadcast you humor and wit across the airwaves each morning, always know that as long as school is in  session, you have one faithful listener in need of amusement on a long  drive to work.  From about 6:40-7:30, you have my  attention.  Thank you for all the laughs you've given me and for  the many more to come.
Sincerely,
Heather LaFavor

Hi Mike!
I am Daniel Ray's mom. I just wanted to send a note to thank you so much for helping Our Lady of Peace out with our auction. I was so sick that night. I really hate that I missed it and that I missed meeting you. I hear that several of us were not there and that you had to pretty much "wing-it" by yourself, but that you were fabulous! We usually try to have someone close by to help with any questions that may come up, so I am sorry you were up there "on your own" so to speak. But, I knew you would do a great job- and you did. Kathleen Wahl phoned me and told me you had brought Daniel a box of CD's. I cannot believe you did that! What a thoughtful and sweet thing to do for my child- especially when you know you didn't have to- but, you did and I cannot tell you how that touched me. When I told Daniel that "Mr. Mike" brought a gift for him and that it would be at school when we go back tomorrow- he just stood there and then got the biggest smile on his face. You know, just to watch my child get so happy because of something someone else had done for him that was so sweet just really melted my heart. Mike, you already had a friend in Daniel and me, but now you have a "friend for life" in Daniel! You have made his year and then some- and mine also. I will always remember this. I know it will be almost a month from now, but on March 27th we are out of school and I may bring Daniel out to the station at 10:00 when you get off - just to meet you and to thank you himself- if that would be ok. Mike, thanks again for everything- and thanks for being the nice person that you seem to be. You and Steve do so much for the community. Times like this my mom would say,"there is a star in Heaven with your name on it"- I agree!

Take Care and Stay Well,
Sincerely,
Dorie Ray
